The game is out and have been beasting on people online. There are a lot of new players out there and some of them do ask for help. So with this post, I will just go through becoming a good MvC2 player. I for one did not create these videos but do find them helpful. They helped me be the player I am today so I can’t complain.

Notations
First and Foremost, you need to learn how to talk MvC2.
I found a great guide here.
The wiki page deals with all things that needed to know about MvC2. It does go into Advanced Techniques somewhere in the bottom so pay attention and practice it in Training Mode. Now that you’ve learned the conventions, we will move on to Basic Combos.

Basic Combos
It is important to learn the basics of your character before heading out to the wolves den.

Using Assist Properly
Now that you know the basic combos, we can go ahead a learn how to use the Assist button properly. An Assist list can be found here.

Basically, there are only 2 types of assist that are good. The Anti-Air and Projectile Assist. You always want to lean towards those types of assist. There are a few exceptions but that would be going to too many details.

-If you want to Attack, cover yourself with a Projectile assist.
-If you are being attacked, you would want to use the Anti-Air assist to push them away.

Here is a good example of Using Assist Properly:

Warning: When you dish out an Assist attack make sure you defend them as well.

Assists Cannot Block so they are standing there for atleast 3 seconds
Using them as bait is good as well but lean towards protecting them.

MvC2: Advanced Tactics
Once you have graduated from learning the basics, it’s time to learn the extensive part of MvC2.

I found 2 videos that show Advanced Techniques. They basically show what to do when you are stuck in a situation. You will see alot of the same characters from people.

To sum it up, using Advanced Tactics will get you out of situations. Knowing your character inside out helps as well.

Infinites
MvC2 has an array of infinites. There may even be some not discovered so go nuts in finding some.

While infinites are considered Cheap, it has been deemed OK by the players that gets hit and uses them. It does get harder to set them up (unless your Iron Man or Magneto), but sometimes they really are not needed. Of course, it does help.

Sentinel gets infinited easily but don’t get discouraged in using him. He is really deadly in the right hands.

Don’t ever give up unless it’s completely over. Just because you lost 2 of your team mates, does not mean that you still can’t win. It will be hard but there is always the possibility.
