Happy Thanksgiving My American Brothers (and Sisters)

turkey

If you are in America, HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!
We had ours in Canada last month. I really wish it was the same date.
I guess Canada talked to the Pilgrims before USA. LOL

I will be entering Black Friday madness in Buffalo to get in on some deals.
I might pick up a PS3 since people are asking to play me online. I could use the Blu-Ray anyways.

If you got any tips you can send me today about what not to do during the Rush of people, that would be great. Any Non-Trampling tips as well.

Good News, For Me Atleast

I have sent my XBOX for repair on my end. It should come back soon.
The tech support for Microsoft seems to be located in Philippines so I felt right at home with the Support Girl. She took care of me and got everything settled. I hope I get it back soon.

Tekken 6
I cannot even test out the Patch that was released today for Tekken 6.
I believe the patch will improve Online capability to a degree.
The reviews are in and its leaning towards good but still experiencing stupidness.  I just want to say, there is no such thing as a good Online Fighting game experience.  Maybe in the next few years but the technology does not exist at the moment.  Actually it does but not in North America. Asian countries are using Fiber Optics but that’s another discussion altogether.

Super Street Fighter IV: New Characters

So IGN recently released a new video showcasing the new Characters in SSFIV.  They are Cody, Guy, Adon, plus T. Hawk, Dee Jay, and Juri.
You can check out the video below to hear their voices and see their Ultra.

As you can see these characters are from the Alpha series. Rumor has it that the next 3 will be based on 3rd Strike characters. They seem to be Ibuki, Makoto, and Dudley and 1 more new character. Another wrestler, all I know about this guy is that he is rich. Rich like Dudley rich.

Tekken 6: Combo Videos

Yoshimitsu

This video was sent to me by the great “EgyptianDarknessTeam“. I use Yoshimitsu as well but since I play SCIV Yoshimitsu, I keep getting confused.
I dropped him for now in Tekken until SCIV completely dies. Enjoy.

News and Tekken 6

Posted on Nov 22, 2009 10:55:22 AM

NeoRussell’s Corner

A few things to report on my end on this lovely Sunday morning.

I watched 2012 with a friend on Friday and it was ok, I later found out that the director created all those disaster movies as well.  Independence Day, Day After Tomorrow and other ones.  Got me to think, what does this Director have against the Earth.  I also learned that when in an Apocalyptic scene, an individual needs to learn how to fly a plane.

I cleaned up the Media Section.  I for one do not trust the search function to work as I would like it to work.  I compiled all of the videos I created in that page.  I will continue putting new videos in there as well.  I do recommend visiting my Youtube page since I didn’t old ones.

BAD NEWS ON MY END

My 360 crashed yesterday.  I got 1 ringed.  This sucks but what can I do but send it to Microsoft and I know that will take a few weeks.  Now, I have a few videos that I am creating but I cannot cap new ones until I get the system fixed.  So there maybe a dark period.  NEC is coming up too and I cannot practice.  First SFIV goes missing and now System is screwed up.  Poor poor NeoRussell.

Tekken 6 Related Videos

My friend showed me a link yesterday that contained so many top tier matches for Tekken 6.  You can find them here.  You will see how Top Tiers play the game and I recommend you have a paper and pen ready to write down what you feel can improve your game.

Enjoy the video below.

Tekken 6: BR – Buffering

I recommend you practice Buffering with your Character.
Top Tier players use this all the time.  Again, it greatly increases the chance of the move coming out.

Pick any 2 digit moves that your character has.
Hold 1 button and correspond it with the next one.
Don’t forget to pass this video around.

Tekken 6 and Tourny Results

Posted on Nov 16, 2009 02:53:15 PM

NeoRussell’s Corner

Here in NeoRussell.com I don’t discriminate on other people who create other videos that will certainly help players in their game.  With that being said, since there are so many Tekken videos circulating around, I figured to buy me time, I will be posting what might be helpful to other people as well.

I mean my videos are great (IMO) all but I ain’t the best, I just try.
I certainly cannot create 1 everyday.  It’s great to see that other people are assisting in helping new or even old players.

I am in the middle of creating a few videos so that’s something to look forward to in the next couple of days.

There was Buffalo Tournament last Saturday which I competed in.  It was a great Tournament.  Don’t ever doubt Rumble in the Tundra tourny’s.  Cha Cha  is the best at what he does.

Official Results are here.

Here’s my placing:

neorussellandfightinggm

Tekken 6 – 2nd Place
Got murdered by one of the best Lee Players “FightingGM”

On the good side, he was the only one who took me out in the entire tournament.

SFIV – 7th Place
Used Vega all the way.  Got through a few difficult players.  I beat the guy who sent me to Losers as well so i’m happy.

BlazBlue – 4th
This game, I got to say, you really need to know your match ups.  If you don’t, you will pay dearly.  The reason I survived that long was because of that same reason.  It was fun until I played the other Toronto player.  LOL

I didn’t play Soul Calibur since I havent touched that game in forever and it would just be free money for the people who does.  I used that money to buy me some food instead.  LOL

It was a great tourny and it will boost my experience a few points up.

Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion Combos

Please keep in mind that Lei is not an easy character to pick up.  He has many different stances that will probably make you shake your head so just a warning.  He is fun though.

T6: Art of Standing

Posted on Nov 13, 2009 02:12:42 AM

NeoRussell’s Corner

Weird to be posting on a Friday morning.  I guess I really should be updating atleast twice a week.  I’ll try to make a habit of it.

Anyways, today’s video showcases the proper way of getting up in Tekken 6.  I feel this basic of strategy is needed for a player to be successful in this game.  The way you get up can determine the match.  It can stop the flow of your opponent dead on its tracks.  Hope it helps.  Don’t forget to pass it around people who are learning with you.

Questions People Ask Me

Hey NeoRussell, what are you using to cap these videos you’ve been releasing?

I get this question all the time.  I use a handy device called “Archos 5“.  It’s a nifty device that boost 250gb of storage and also acts as a video and music player.  As for creating the videos, I have a MacBook with Final Cut Express 4.

Tekken 6: The Art Of Standing Properly

Like I said, the way you stand up has the power to win you the match or atleast change the flow of it.

SFIV: Anti-Cross Up Strats

Posted on Nov 8, 2009 10:12:44 AM

NeoRussell’s Corner

It’s Sunday and boy did the days past by quickly.  Hope everybody is having a great sunday so far.  It appears that Tekken Scenario movies are a hit for a lot of people.  It’s getting a lot of hits and comments.  Comments that sometimes don’t make sense and others that makes me wonder if people are thinking before making one.  Oh well, in the end, thanks for watching them.

I will be releasing a Tekken 6 video in the middle of the week.  I just want to point out that I cater to the new players.  While I feel that Advanced players can benefit from my videos as well, it is geared towards people who are starting out.  If you are what you call an Advanced player, then I would recommend you pass along videos that I have created.  Share the knowledge and pass it on.

That does not mean I won’t be releasing any Advanced Strats but for now I feel that I have to go over a few basics first.  We can’t have people not understanding the video IMO.

Don’t think I have forgotten about you Street Fighter people, I created this video a few weeks ago but then Tekken came out and my time seems to be in that game for now plus I cannot find my SFIV *sad*.  Whatever, enjoy this video.  I feel it’s important since ALOT of players fall for this trap.  Especially new ones.

Street Fighter IV: Anti-Cross Up Strategies

I set the computer to Record the trap.
I also did extensive testing for the characters I don’t use so I know all of those works.  If you feel the screen is too small, please go watch it in my youtube page instead.  You can pick HD there.
